DIY Brand Audit: See If Your Branding Still Fits You

Let’s be honest, most brands age like milk, not wine. What once felt bold and exciting can start feeling a bit… off. Or worse, beige.

If your branding doesn’t make you want to strut into your next launch like it’s your own personal runway, it might be time for a little identity intervention.

This isn’t about burning it all down (though we do love a good creative rebellion). It’s about checking whether your brand still fits the version of you who’s running the show now, not the one who cobbled together a logo in Canva and hoped for the best.

So if your brand is feeling a little meh, grab your favourite beverage, channel your inner outlaw, and let’s give your brand a reality check.

1. Does your brand still feel like you?

If your visuals scream “corporate LinkedIn energy” but your soul says “champagne and chaos,” you’ve got a mismatch.Your brand should sound and feel like you, not the 2018 version who was still trying to impress everyone.

Audit tip: If you cringe reading your own captions, your brand’s wearing a mask. Rip it off.

2. Are you attracting the right kind of people, or just anyone with Wi-Fi?

If your inbox is full of clients who drain your will to live, your brand’s sending out the wrong signal. Your vibe calls your tribe, my friend, so your brand may be giving off the wrong energy.

Archetype check: If you’re a Rebel brand acting like a Caregiver, don’t be surprised when everyone wants free therapy instead of transformation.

3. Do your visuals still make you proud — or mildly nauseous?

Your logo, fonts, and colours should feel like an energetic match for where you’re headed, not a souvenir from your “DIY experimental” era. If your aesthetic doesn’t make you want to post proudly, it’s time to upgrade your vibe.

Audit tip: Would your ideal client recognise your brand if your name wasn’t on it? If not, you’ve got a consistency problem, not a confidence one.

4. Is your message clear, or are you hiding behind “clever”?

If you have to read your tagline twice to figure out what you do, imagine how your audience feels. Cut the fluff, drop the buzzwords, and just say the thing.

Pro move: Clarity converts. Confusion repels. Unless you’re deliberately going for mysterious artist energy (in which case, carry on).

5. Do your offers still turn you on?

You can’t sell what bores you. If your offers feel stale, it might not be the product, it might be how you’re framing it.

Audit tip: Ask yourself, “Would I buy this?” If the answer is “maybe… after a nap,” it’s time to repackage or reposition.

6. When was the last time you updated your photos or bio?

If your headshots are giving a late1900's vibe, and your bio still references the Millenium bug, it’s time for a refresh. People connect with now you, not past you. Your audience should see your current energy, not your rebrand history.

7. Is your brand still fun?

If showing up feels like homework, that’s a full-body “no.” A powerful brand should make you want to play, experiment, and occasionally break the rules.

Audit tip: If your brand feels like a beige straightjacket, loosen it up. Add humour, colour, or chaos, whatever makes it feel alive again.

The Brutal Truth (Delivered Lovingly)

If your answers made you want to pour another drink, congratulations. You’re self-aware! Brands evolve, just like humans. The goal isn’t perfection; it’s alignment.

When your brand reflects who you’ve become, business feels lighter, easier, and more fun. When it doesn’t? You’ll spend half your energy pretending.

So here’s your official permission slip to stop playing small, stop recycling old content, and stop pretending your brand still fits. If you’ve outgrown it. Own it.

Ready for a second opinion (minus the fluff)?

Book a Vibe Power Hour and we’ll rip through your brand, decode your archetype, and rebuild your message with personality, precision, and a bit of outlaw magic.
